Art and Design Capture Her Heart
From a young age, Victoria always had a flair for the arts.Vivid recollections of sketching and drawing come to mind as she recalls early childhood.Born and raised in Philadelphia, Victoria always knew she wanted to pursue a career expressing her artistic abilities.It wasn’t until late in High School that Victoria decided fashion would be the outlet for her creativity.Certain of her decision, Victoria turned down a partial scholarship in art, and focused her studies on fashion design instead.She graduated from Drexel University’s Nesbit School of Art & Design (currently known as the Westphal College of Media Arts & Design.)
The Bridal Path
Victoria’s foray into bridal design was quite serendipitous.After applying for a position in WWD simply marked “design assistant,” Victoria found herself at Christos, a renowned bridal design house. Upon meeting the designer, and being inspired by the walls of his framed magazine covers, Victoria’s interest in bridal bloomed.Victoria feels everything happens for a reason, and falling into bridal design this way, happened as it was meant to be.
Upon gathering knowledge and experience in the industry, Victoria decided it was time to create and launch her own line.The collection was named after her dear grandmother, with whom she has many fond memories.She designed, managed and tailored the line for almost 20 years.In this time, Victoria created signature wedding gowns that have been worn by thousands of brides, including Oscarâ winning actress Hilary Swank.In 2007, Victoria was awarded “Couture Bridal Gown Designer of the Year” for Classic Designs by Wedding Dresses Magazine.This was truly a delight for her, as the salon owners that carried her gowns voted to present her with this honor.
The Launch of Victoria Nicole
In April 2010, Victoria launched a brand new company, Victoria Nicole. Wedded to designs that convey her own personal style and taste, the collection is glamorous yet romantic. Each Victoria Nicole gown is the picture of timeless elegance.Victoria notes,“It is my intent to create styles brides can look back on many years later, and still love the way they looked on their wedding day.It is so very flattering to be chosen to be part of such a special day.”
Victoria calls the quaint Village of Babylon, New York home, where she lives with her husband and three beautiful daughters.She chose this seaside town for its proximity to the beach, where on most summer weekends Victoria and her family can be found. Victoria remarks, “I have been blessed with both the ability to pursue a career in a field that I truly love, and a wonderful family. Their love and support make everything possible.”
